HealthEConnect Unveils Work Projects for MIEI Students in 2025
HealthEConnect is once again opening the doors to real-world learning opportunities with the launch of its 2025 Work Projects (WPs) for students enrolled in the MSc in Impact Entrepreneurship & Innovation (MIEI) at Nova SBE. In collaboration with Nova Medical School (NMS), this initiative offers a unique chance for students to engage directly with the healthcare innovation ecosystem, applying their academic knowledge to practical industry challenges.
This year’s selection of Work Projects spans multiple fields, from health economics and business strategy to market research, regulatory affairs, and medtech innovation. Students will have the opportunity to collaborate with leading startups and organizations, including Patient Innovation, Walk With Path, and Careceiver, where they will work on patient-centered solutions, business model development, and strategic expansion. Other projects focus on regulatory and economic frameworks in healthcare, such as the development of reimbursement models and market entry strategies for medical technologies, while partnerships with ventures like Glooma and Reality Telling will allow students to gain hands-on experience in commercializing health solutions and optimizing digital health communication.
A key highlight of this year’s offering is the collaboration with the Bio Innovation Institute (BII), which will provide students with the opportunity to engage with biotech and healthtech startups in areas such as venture building, regulatory analysis, and strategic business development. These projects are designed to equip participants with the necessary skills to navigate the complexities of the healthcare industry while fostering collaboration between Portugal’s innovation ecosystem and international partners.
The selection process for these Work Projects follows a structured approach, ensuring that students are matched with opportunities that align with their interests and career aspirations. From March 5 to April 3, students can indicate up to three preferred projects. While the specialization coordination team will prioritize first-choice selections, in cases where demand exceeds availability, startups and companies will assess candidates based on their CVs and motivation letters.
The first-round results will be announced on April 30, with a second selection round taking place from May 6 to May 19 for students who were not placed in their initial choices.
For those considering a career in healthcare innovation, these Work Projects represent an invaluable opportunity to gain practical industry experience, expand professional networks, and contribute to the creation of real life solutions with a direct impact on patient care. We are eager to see them taking on this new adventure.
